Op zaterdag 30 januari ging in Gent de eerste informatiesessie door voor officials betreffende zwemwedstrijden bij personen met een handicap. Deze sessie werd heel goed onthaald!
OP zaterdag 13 maart 2010 zal een tweede sessie in Antwerpen plaatsvinden. Officials van de Vlaamse Zwemfederatie vzw zullen een toelichting krijgen rond de aandachtspunten bij wedstrijden voor zwemmers met een handicap.

We like to inform you that the Organizing Committee for the IPC Swimming Open Belgian Championships 2010 has decided to cancel the international part of the meeting.
There are several reasons why this difficult decision was made.
1. Although the Organizing Committee applied for a technical delegate, a chief referee and a team of classifiers prior to the deadline, IPC could not provide us with the necessary IPC Swimming Officials.
Until the very last moment, IPC and the Organising Committee made efforts to resolve this problem, but solutions were not found. No officials are available for the meeting. Especially on classification level this is a big problem for the Organizing Committee. Several countries were very interested in coming to the meeting, providing there an official IPC classification.
2. Secondly, the Organizing Committee of the Eindhoven Open cancelled their meeting. Several delegations wanted to combine the IPC Swimming Open Belgian Championships with the Eindhoven Open.
Taking into consideration these two aspects, the Organizing Committee has decided to cancel the international part of the IPC Swimming Open Belgian Championships 2010.
It was not an easy decision but it was a necessary one.
The Organizing Committee still has the intention to continue to organise this international meeting in 2011. We hope to see you then in Antwerp!
